Mobixa Admin — Gamified Learning Management Redesign

From Instruction-Heavy Complexity to Intuitive Mastery

Overview

This project focused on redesigning Mobixa’s desktop-only Admin Panel, a learning management platform tailored to administrators, educational designers, and corporate trainers. Working with a team of developers, I led the UX process to transform a fragmented, high-friction system into a streamlined, self-explanatory workspace.

The Challenge: The Cost of Complexity

• The "Education Barrier": The legacy UI was so convoluted that new admins required several days of training just to perform basic tasks.

• Support Overload: Despite existing video tutorials, the interface was so unintuitive that users repeatedly contacted the company for information, as the documentation was insufficient to bridge the UX gaps.

• Fragmented Flow: Creating content required "menu hopping"—users had to navigate to separate pages just to create a category, then another for questions, and yet another for the activity.

• "Dead-End" Dashboards: The initial landing page was a static dashboard that lacked a Call to Action (CTA), leaving users confused about their next move.

The Goal

The primary objective was to eliminate the need for extensive user training by making the interface self-evident. Success metrics included reducing task completion times by 25% and significantly decreasing support dependency.

The Process

1. Research & Interviews

I conducted remote interviews with seven current users to map workflow bottlenecks. We identified that the fragmented navigation was the primary cause of usability frustration and "manual" dependency.

2. The Solution: Centralized "Control Center" Logic

Instead of a scattered structure, I architected a "Library" approach where everything is accessible from a single hub:

• Unified Creation: Users can now create questions, categories, and journeys within a single flow without leaving the interface.

• Interactive Tooling: Integrated Drag-and-Drop interactions and "Quick-Add" shortcuts to make content management fast and error-proof.

• The Smart Dashboard: Replaced the static landing page with a Mini Dashboard that provides immediate insights coupled with prominent CTAs. The system now guides the user toward content creation immediately upon login.

3. Testing & UI Refinement

• Usability Testing: Tested a clickable prototype with seven users. We solved the "data paralysis" of large tables by introducing collapsible sections, improving efficiency significantly.

• UI Design: Prioritized a clean, professional style using Material Design guidelines. The use of soft tones and ample white space keeps the user experience light, despite the high density of information.

• Intuition over Instruction: Transformed the user experience from a multi-day training requirement to an interactive, self-guiding platform.

• Workflow Mastery: Eliminated menu-hopping through a centralized library logic and interactive shortcuts.

• Proactive Engagement: The new CTA-driven home page turned a confusing "dead-end" into a clear starting point for productivity.

To further empower admins, we plan to explore AI-driven content generation, allowing for customized materials tailored to specific needs, and expand gamified activity variety to boost engagement.
